This is not only a great way to bond with your child, It&#8217;s also a great way to work out your chest muscles without having to leave the family room for a trip to the gym.</p>

This doesn&#8217;t have to happen though. You can stay strong and stave off the loss of muscle in as little as three times a week if you make strength training a part of your exercise routine. This doesn&#8217;t have to mean getting big and bulky either. Doing many repetitions with lighter weights will add strength without adding the bulk.</p>
<p>When you start your strength training program the key is to start out slowly. It&#8217;s a good idea to start out with less weight than you think you can handle. This is a mistake that many people make. If you used to go to the gym on a regular basis and then stopped for a while, don&#8217;t try to just pick up where you left off. You need to work up slowly. See how you feel after a day and if you&#8217;re a little sore that&#8217;s fine &#8211; you&#8217;re doing it right. <p>To be considered an ideal patient for weight loss surgery a person should be at least 100 pounds overweight for men and at least 80 pounds overweight for women.  This can be more accurately calculated by measuring BMI or body mass index.  To find your BMI, there are many free tools available on the web that calculate your BMI based on your height and weight.  If your BMI is 40 or over you might be a good candidate for weight loss surgery.  You should also be over 18 and have exhausted all other attempts at weight loss.</p>
<p>Weight loss surgery is part of a branch of medicine known as Bariatrics.  All of the techniques of bariatric surgery focus on making physical changes to the stomach and intestine using a variety of techniques.  In addition to restricting the size of the stomach by placing a band around the stomach to make it smaller, sometimes the intestine itself is shortened to reduce the number of calories that can be absorbed by the food that does get into the stomach.</p>

By now you know how to replace those unhealthy foods and habits with new ones that will keep you on track in maintaining your new weight. Your body slows down your metabolic rate and burns muscle instead of fat, which is kept in reserve for producing energy. This way, you don&#8217;t lose much fat at all; if anything, you lose valuable muscle. And once you return to your normal diet, extra weight will come back with a vengeance.</p>
<p>3. Myth #3: Cardio exercises are the only exercises that help you lose weight. As a matter of fact, studies have shown that the amount of fat you lose doing cardio or aerobics is basically the same.
